📦 Palya! I just got this in the mail!

Last year, The Eyre Peninsula Landscape Board commissioned me to create an artwork with full licensing rights. ‘Protection’ is now hanging in their head office, featured across their ‘Caring for Country’ plan, along with custom-printed pens, mousepads and more!

This piece highlights the importance of protecting and restoring our land, waterways and biodiversity, keeping community at the heart of landscape management. Seeing it being shared and used in such meaningful ways makes it all the more special.

💙 My latest commission is this massive 2 metre artwork, created in testament to the family behind McCormack & Studio 103. 'Foundations' tells such a special story spanning generations and it was an honour to bring their history to life through art.

STORY & MEANING
This artwork represents the journey of McCormack & Studio 103, from humble beginnings in Jack McCormack's garage to the thriving, multi-generational companies they are today.

At the far end of the piece, the U-shaped person symbol represents Jack and his journey in founding the business. Connected to him are his two sons, Greg & Wade, who later joined and helped shape McCormack into what it is today. These figures are linked by a central symbol of family, representing the company’s strong foundation and its connection to future generations.

At the heart of the piece, a large, intricate symbol represents the McCormack and Studio 103 communities—sharing knowledge, working together, and growing side by side. Further along, community symbols reflect the many projects, partnerships, and relationships built over the years.

Flowing throughout the artwork, journey lines connect the past, present, and future—honouring Jack’s vision, his sons’ dedication, and the next generation carrying it forward. Now, Lauren & Brad are leading the third generation, building upon this legacy and driving the business into an even stronger and more innovative future.

🔍 The Language of Aboriginal Art

For thousands of years Aboriginals (original inhabitants) have used distinct symbolism in art to tell stories, share knowledge, culture and connection to Country. I’ve added labels to my artworks 'Tribe' & 'Rivers of Life' to highlight some of the symbols we commonly use and the meanings behind them:

🔥 Campfire/Community – a meeting place where people come together
〰️ Journey Lines – pathways traveled, connections between places and people
💧 Waterholes & Rock Pools – sacred sources of life and survival
👣 Tracks (Emu, Kangaroo, Footprints) – signs of movement, migration, and hunting
🌿 Bush Medicine – knowledge of healing passed down through ancestors

Understanding these symbols is a step toward understanding the depth of our storytelling through art. Aboriginal art is more than just dots and patterns, it's a way of preserving history, identity and storytelling for future generations. 💜 ‘Welcome to Country’ at Bupa Australia

I just received these photos from Bupa Medical Visa Services, showing their commissioned artwork ‘Welcome to Country’ now installed at their Adelaide clinic alongside its Certificate of Authenticity.

This piece was created to represent connection, respect, and belonging, welcoming new arrivals to Australia while honouring the Traditional Custodians of the land.

It’s always such an amazing feeling seeing my work displayed in spaces like this where it can be appreciated for years to come and where it holds such special meaning for people from different cultures starting their journey in Australia.

✨ Past, Present, Future

Now that the surprise has been revealed, I can finally share this special commissioned artwork created for Quinton, who gifted it to his partner Alera for Valentine’s Day!

At the heart of this piece is the present, where Quinton and Alera stand together, surrounded by the journey that brought them here. The smaller, darker circle represents the past, holding cherished memories and experiences that have shaped their story. The largest, gold-lit circle symbolises the future, filled with possibility, growth, and the path ahead.

Interwoven throughout the artwork are the colours of their beloved pets: Leo (white & orange) and Oscar (tabby), who have sadly passed, and Peaches (white & tan) and Neko (dark grey), who are still with them.

Celebrating 25 years of love, this piece was an honour to create and I’m grateful to Quinton for trusting me with something so deeply personal.
