“Bush Tucker” captures the journeys taken through the bush with my Grandmother, exploring the land & trees for Quandongs and gathering them for homemade pies and jams. When out on Country, Nana would teach us about our ancestors and the different ways of finding bush tucker like Witchetty grubs.
These are cherished memories that I will never forget, making them a favourite subject for my paintings. I talked to her when I began this piece and asked her for guidance and this is how it turned out, just like her traditional style of painting.
