This artwork symbolises my deep connection to both the land and the ocean. My Dieri and Kokatha heritage ties me to the arid desert landscapes of South Australia, characterised by hills and rugged plains. Meanwhile, my Mirning and Wirangu ancestry connects me to the South Australian coastline, where the pristine beaches, rockpools, and sand dunes hold a special place in my heart. The patterns I’ve incorporated into this piece reflect the diverse and intricate patterns found in both these environments, celebrating the unique beauty of both land and sea.
