Wanna Mar is a term meaning ‘Food of the Sea’ in Wirangu and Mirning languages.
this commissioned artwork was completed for David who is a surfer and is passionate about ocean life like sharks, dolphins, whales and fish. He likes blues and greens, light purples and anything that is beach related.
The commission piece I have created for David tells a story of how everyone likes to go to the beach on a hot summer day.
I have painted people sitting on the beach and animal tracks leading to the water.
I have also included two light purple dolphins, a whale and two sharks chasing schools of fish (outlined with purple).
This piece has golden dots for the hot sparkling beach sand.
To represent the surf and ocean waters, I have dotted white to blue ombré colours!
This artwork also includes silver metallic paint which shines and glows as you move across the room!
