Description

This commissioned artwork was created through conversations with First Nations apprentices at TAPS SA and is a reflection of their journey and what it means to feel part of something.

At the centre is a meeting place on shared ground. A place of togetherness where we feel seen, supported and respected. A reminder of family, of our brothers and sisters who walk alongside us and the connection we carry wherever we go.

From here, everything flows through intricate dotting and linework, marking individual journeys and resting spots along the way.

Deep blues represent water and like water, people move, connect and grow, while staying connected to their source.

Bright whites bring clarity and direction, symbolising knowledge and guidance from our ancestors while silvers represent strength, reflection and the importance of communication.

This piece tells the story of nurturing our gidjas (kids), fostering a culture of belonging and creating leaders for the next generation.
