Anna sent through a commission request letting me know that her and her husband grew up in Port Lincoln and have just bought a block of land at Tiatukia where they are building a house and were hoping I could create some art for their new home.
The house will be on a hill overlooking the ocean, the area is hilly with lots of granite rocks and grassland. They really liked the medicine leaves style with the small brush strokes like my piece “Rainbow Desert”.
When I showed Anna & her husband the completed work they said “I can’t believe you just whipped this up! You have insane skills! We are in love!”.
They were so happy with their custom artwork that they decided to purchase “Dusk” as well.
“Rainbow Desert,” is an artwork rendered in vibrant rainbow colors within the traditional Medicine Leaf styling, encapsulates my vision of my Country’s desert landscape as a kaleidoscope of life, culture, and spirituality. The diverse hues symbolise the richness of Indigenous traditions, while the Medicine Leaf style intricately weaves ancestral stories and connections to the land. This pieces resonates with the concept of harmony, portraying the desert not as an arid expanse, but as a thriving ecosystem filled with cultural diversity and a spiritual spectrum that transcends time.
