This artwork represents Josh and Taneisha and the strength of family connection grounded in Country.
The central meeting place symbolises Josh and Taneisha’s family, with journey lines extending outward to represent their shared life journey and the paths that connect them to family near and far. The surrounding meeting places represent their extended family, showing that no matter the distance, everyone remains connected through shared land, culture and kinship.
The warm tones of reds, oranges, yellows and browns reflect North West Queensland, honouring Country and the cultural connections of Taneisha through her Kalkadoon and Mitakoodi heritage.
Country Bound is a reminder that no matter how far life takes us, it is always the land we come from that brings us back together.
