This series of six artworks was created in honour of a much-loved mum and grandmother.
The central U-shaped person symbol represents mum, the steady presence at the heart of the family. As a single working mother and nurse, she dedicated her life to caring for others, raising her two children and later taking great pride in her four grandchildren.
The surrounding symbols represent her family, connected through her love, values and guidance. Though each artwork is a recreated original, they carry their own unique spirit and energy and are intended to live in six different homes, reflecting how her legacy continues equally through each child and grandchild.
The flowing lines represent her life’s journey, from the UK to Australia, her love of the coast and the rhythm of walking by the sea. Green speaks to growth, health and the active life she lived, while earthy reds reflect warmth, strength and love.
These works are a reminder that she remains at the centre, guiding her family through memory and connection.
