“Solid Rock” is a story within a story. Created to celebrate five initiatives supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students across Australia under the Closing the Gap program, each section tells its own story of journey through colour. Beneath all of this sits the deep purple background inspired by rock formed far beneath the earth, where minerals shift and settle over thousands of years. This colour represents ancient knowledge, cultural foundations and the strength that holds everything together.
Dot work connects everything as bridges of togetherness, showing how communities, teachers and families are all linked, working collectively to support students and their pathways. Flowing along the outer edges are river lines and seeds, symbolising beginnings, growth and where our pathways lead.
U-Shaped symbols represent people sitting, each colour tells a story.
At the centre is a meeting place representing students gathered around a campfire, yarning, sharing their journeys, standing on solid rock, supported by the pathways that connect them.
