Soulmates reflects the journey of Alaa and Dullah, two people from different cultures who found each other and built a life enriched by blending their traditions, languages and families. The central circle represents their bond, radiating love, warmth and connection, linked by symbols of two people sitting and the journey lines that brought them together in unity and companionship.
Medicine leaves flow through the piece as symbols of blessing, healing and strength, while the shining bronzes, earthy ochres and deep greens represent family, faith and community.
