This artwork tells a story of camping with family in the summer. The central symbol shows campfire, the place where everyone ends up, cooking, telling stories and settling in as the day cools. U-shape symbols show people sitting together, men are represented by two hunting tools while women are marked by one gathering tool beside them.
Blended green dot work reflect the bush in the summer heat, red earth shows the warmth of the ground and golds are our ancestors watching over us.
Journey lines carry the smell of smoke, earth, bush and that feeling of stillness, of being exactly where you’re meant to be.
